Welcome to the MyHappyPlanet Blog!
When I built the first version of MyHappyPlanet last year, my goal was to make the world a smaller place – by connecting people from different cultures and by helping them learn languages in a fun way.
If you’ve been on MyHappyPlanet for more than nine months, you might remember that we didn’t have language lessons or video tutorials back then. Before that, we didn’t have a way for people to correct each other’s messages. And even before that, we didn’t have a phrase translator built into the site. Maybe if you were here really early on, you might even remember a time before we had live chatting through Skype, MSN, and Yahoo.
A lot has changed, and we’re not done improving the site yet. We have a bunch of good things coming out soon, to help make MyHappyPlanet a fun place for language learners. Our goal is to provide a tool that makes language learning fun – all of our existing and new features contribute towards this goal.
Today, we’re launching our corporate blog so everyone can get a close-up view of what we’re doing every day to make MyHappyPlanet a fun place for language learners. We’ll update our blog regularly, with different people posting about new features or sharing what’s been happening with us.
Your feedback is important to us, so feel free to share your two cents on how we can make our site and this blog more useful to you. We’re excited to hear from you and to make MyHappyPlanet better and better and better for you.

Indeed it is a happy planet when people can reach out to each other. When distances are crossed, and differences cease to be disagreements but are transformed into uniqueness which are shared. Language is the foundation of this sharing, language learning is the beginning of understanding each other, appreciating each other’s right to be here. Although, I hadn’t been actively visiting the site in the past because of logging problems, I consider this the most useful because of the learning a language element. I am still awaiting replies from language learner partners. Again, to the founders, congratulations and thank you for this happy place.

Congrats on your blog. This is a great opportunity for users to share experience with the site. I just don’t know if everyone who joined can understand English. Then, your message might not have been understood. I’ve been recommending your site for my students who are learning English so, understanding instructions, features and everything in English is part of the learning process for them.
Well, then if you need help perharps translating your message into Portuguese just let me know.

Hello, i think is great that you are willing to accept ideas from the users of myhappyplanet.com, I also congratulate you, cause the site has improved a lot :-D. There are many great tools, like “correct my message”, i think that is a really good tool and it has help me a lot to learn german.
I think you get a lot this idea o request, but i will ask it anyway XD, we would like to have a kind of chat inside the site, that way two people can speak during their time online in the site. It could also be cool to have chats rooms (with sound if possible :P), separated by language, topics and continents or countries.
Keep doing a great job like you have been doing to this time, you are helping many people who enjoy to practice languages and meeting people from around the world.

It still seems to think I speak Chinese Mandarin (due to a slip of the mouse when I signed up). It doesn’t say so when I try to edit my profile, but the site still finds friends for me that it thinks I can teach Chinese Mandarin to. (And people send me messages thinking the same).

The new site you say is faster!!!! I clicked on “my profile” and it still hadnt opened after 5 mins. I clicked on “friends” and again, it hadnt opened after 5 mins. I also clicked on “more friends” and the same again, 5 mins and it still hadnt opened.What am I supposed to do?

That’s awesome to hear! We did a test recently and found out that it’s mostly in Asia and Latin America where it’s the slowest currently.
